IconPeople Announce Icon Plus and Icon Professional Sets

NEW LARGE SET ICON SETS ENHANCE OPTIONS FOR WEB AND APPLICATION USER INTERFACES

November 28, 2005. Beaverton, Oregon-based IconPeople, a label of Meshbox Design, announce Icon Plus and Icon Professional versions of their cost effective, best selling icon sets for application developers and website designers.

IconPeople icon sets now come in the following configurations:

Standard editions which include 8x8, 16x16, 24x24 and 32x32 pixel sized icons in BMP, JPEG, GIF and PNG formats. Standard editions now also include 32x32 Windows .ico versions.

New Plus versions of Aspen, Centaury and Valerian include 48x48, 64x64 and 128x128 versions of the respective icon sets. Plus Sets are available individually for $119.

New Professional versions of Aspen, Centaury and Valerian include both the Standard and Plus versions which together cost $169.

Licensees of the Standard versions of these icon sets can upgrade to the new Professional versions for $69.

Arajishi-jo Outer Keep Kit Released: Build Sengoku Era Castles

The next piece in our Arajishi-jo series was just released: Arajishi-jo Outer Keep Kit. This kit includes over 55 3DS-based parts as well as the basic castle layout shown here in 3DS and Poser 6 Prop format.

Two very simple parts here make me happy. These are the rampways and enterances 3DS pieces. These are small sets of staircases that you can lay out and make infinite length outdoor staircases. One is a "guttered" stair that is very realistic.

Arajishi-jo Outer Keep is now available direct and through Content Paradise for $15. You can get it in a bundle with Arajishi-jo Gate for $20, but only direct from Meshbox Design.

Elven Village Volume 2: Elven Village Lighthouse

We released Elven Village Lighthouse today, a new model in Elven Village Volume 2. In fact, we have a last minute revision. The original model had the horse decorations from Elven Village Volume 1. However, we wanted to add a little variety by having a new decoration, a swan. So the Elven Village Lighthouse goodie back includes both the 3DS and e-frontier Poser prop versions of both Elven Village Lighthouse and Elven Village Lighthouse Swan Edition.

Medieval Village Volume 1, a collection of seven medium resolution models in 3DS format, are now up on Content Paradise. This is one of our original sets so its priced well at $20.

You can also get this set directly from Meshbox Design. The building to your left is windmill, which is my favorite model from the group.

Elven Village Volume 1: The Sea Elves Ships

We just put the wraps on a new color and bump map package for our Elven Village Volume 1 Complete Edition called Elven Village Volume 1: The Sea Elves. For each model in the model set, we add an original 4096x4096 color map and 4096x4096 bump map. This totally transforms the appearance and mood of Elven Village Volume 1. It is on sale now on Content Paradise for $20.

Aspen Icon Set Released

Meshbox Design just released a new icon set called Aspen. Aspen icons comes in 8, 16, 24 and 32 pixel sizes, in the following formats: Bitmap (BMP), PNG, TIFF, JPEG and GIF.

e-frontier Ships Shade 8

e-frontier America announced Shade 8 here in the United States, but its already been out a while in Japan. Shade is a very venerable and quite useful bezier based modeller for Windows and MacOS X. It looks like more than anything, they've enhanced their modeling tools for manipulating vertices and animation capabilities. I can't argue with their choice of improvements, because I really like how easy it is to model using the Shade paradigm, but Ive never been happy with its animation.

Apple Upgrades .Mac Service

I was wondering how long it would take Apple to upgrade their .mac service, and a little disappointed that they havent really added a true blog service. What's new:

1 GB of space. Okay, Google has been giving out 1 GB of mail for free for months now. But I can load this up with all sorts of stuff, not just email.
Groups. Getting better! You can make your own little private blog-like groups site. There is a minimum requirement though of allocating 100 MB per group.
Backup 3. Hmmm. I never used Backup 1 or Backup 2. But I guess this is a big deal if you use your iDisk to back up your files.

I signed up for .Mac not long after it came out in 2002 thinking that I could use iDisk as a way to shuttle files between various computers in various offices (we have offices in Japan, US and Eastern Europe). However, attempts to log into .Mac from PCs resulted in lots of ugly, ugly errors and no joy. Those problems seem to be fixed.

Im truly a latecomer when it comes to blogging. My significant other who posts over on Software Destinations considers me a late majority customer in Moore's Technology Adoption Lifecycle. Welcome to my 'blog, such as it is. Here I will be writing mostly about the 3D industry as I see it. I manage a division of content creators and engineers that specialize in 3D development. Secondarily, Im involved with the devil's broth of 3D: 3D gaming, both as an industry professional and as a consumer (Ive played several of the MMORPG's and continue to play World of WarCraft).

Meshbox Design is a division of Proactive International which provides business development services for technology vendors. It was created initially to supply outsourced talent for Proactive's client base, but we also provide project based and long term contract employees for other companies. We've also just launched our own private label IconPeople, to promote our 2D media products (can you guess we license icons to developers?) and some software titles. Our first software title is MeshInstall, an "installer maker" that is specifically for content creators. If you create your own presentation graphics, licensable models or even music, MeshInstall lets you wrap your content in a secure, blowfish encrypted, password or serial number protected archive.

Meshbox Design also licenses out 3D models for use in art, animation and games. We relicense through several online resellers, such as Renderosity, Content Paradise and TurboSquid.
